The Friends of ACET Uganda have been touched and encouraged by the enthusiasm of UK students to want to improve conditions at Nakulabye Junior School. Below is just a few of the schools who have helped raise funds. These are the schools where we have sought permission to include them - if your school has raised funds for NJS and you want to be mentioned or, if you want your school to be involved in fundraising too, then email the FAU school liaison person, Cilla.
Jun 08: Pupils at The Bishops’ High School in Chester have raised over £750 for Nakulabye Junior school, following two pupil’s first hand experience of life for students in Uganda

Natalie and Katy Fabian visited Uganda in January as part of a family trip to see some of the work supported by ACET.
Katy told us,
"Our dad, Peter, works for ACET and this was a great chance for us to see first hand some of the work the charity does. We visited remote rural villages and lived with local families, but the place that really hit us was Nakulabye Junior School, in a slum area of Kampala. We wanted to do something to help when we got back and our school very kindly agreed to help us."
"Most of the pupils at Nakulabye School are very poor; many are orphans or infected with HIV. ACET has raised the funds to build new school buildings and is now supporting pupils with school fees and money for at least one good meal a day."
Suisan Kippax from the school continued,
"Natalie and Katy inspired the pupils and we are thrilled that £750 will go so far, offering school fees and a decent meal for more than 25 children for a whole year. We hope we will be able to help again in the future."
