ACET Uganda works in response to specific needs in specific areas of Uganda .... Providing AIDS care, education, training and training material to schools and communities all across the country. Some of these projects are longstanding and ongoing and these are listed on the left. Click on the title on the left to get information on each project.
The ACET Kitgum office is growing in scope and strategic positioning - the work carried out in the region is seen as a model of working in the displaced people's camps. A resource centre is being constructed in partnership with Christian Aid UK. This will be a youth "hub" where they can: catch up on schoolwork; receive guidance, counselling and lifeskills sessions; get access to computers and other facilities. All this is needed as the young people in the camps have missed out for so long and lag behind others. The centre will also provide VCT facilities (Voluntary Counselling and Testing).
Latest News (Feb 2007):
The Resource Centre has started to be used. The training wing still needs a coat of paint and reinforcing of the roof for it to be fully functional.
The next phase is the furnishing of the Resource Centre with computers and then commencing the Youth Lifeskills education programme.
