ACET Belarus

Teams from ACET Russia and ACET Czech republic have been working in partnership with local organisations to train educators in AIDS prevention. Many have attended the pilot programmes which have been very well received by participants.120 educators are already trained and are working to save lives in many cities

We hope that ACET Belarus will be formally registered in the next few months, led by Larisa Zibrik whose group of educators have been working in HIV prevention for several years. Although the numbers with HIV are very low - maybe 15,000 among the 10 million population - neighbouring Russia has seen explosive spread of HIV and Belarus is at risk, especially from spread amongst drug injectors.
