Prayer Update - January 2010

Please join us in praying for our ministry around the world:

As we remember all those affected by the ice and cold in the UK, ask God for safety in travelling for ACET lecturers and carers around the world, but particularly for those working through the winter months in Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.  Pray that snow, cold and vast distances would not prevent them from reaching the many schools, groups and communities where they are scheduled to work in the coming weeks.

This New Year, lift before God the leaders of ACET programmes around the world, that, as they bless and encourage others, God would renew and strengthen them for the work he has called them to do. Remember particularly the leadership of Groundswell in Hampshire, UK as they appoint new staff to lead their care work in the county.

Please pray for new, affordable offices for ACET Belarus and ACET Eastern Cape (South Africa), who have had to vacate their existing premises at short notice.  Remember before God all those who work ‘behind the scenes’ for ACET in, for example, finance, administration and fundraising.  Pray that they will be fruitful and faithful servants.

Ask God to be close to all those who are either too ill or too scared to leave their homes because of HIV or AIDS.  Pray for wisdom and compassion for ACET home based care teams who visit them to bring practical and emotional support.  Pray for more volunteers to join this work, particular in the UK, Ireland and Zimbabwe.

Join us in thanking God for

  • The success of the ACET Slovakia conference for young people in November
  • Record numbers of young people reached with our Facts for Life education programme in 2009
  • The continuing positive response to the HIV voluntary testing and counselling programme in the D R Congo.
  • Recognition of the excellence of the work done at ACET Nireekshana India by the government there, allowing easier access to state hospitals and medication for those attending Nireekshana’s clinics who are living with HIV

If you have messages of encouragement or assurances of prayer for any of these people or situations, please contact us and we will pass them on.

Thank you for praying!
