August 2009 Prayer Bulletin

Please join us today in praying for our ministry around the world:

Please lift before God the work of ACET Northern Ireland, led by Gary Crothers.  As they celebrate 19 years of work to tackle the spread of HIV and AIDS in Belfast and around the province, thank God for the years of faithful service and the fruit they have seen and please pray that He would continue to bless their work.

Continue to remember the ACET Belarus team.   Please pray specifically for more open doors for their volunteers in schools and universities as the new school year begins.  Thank God for the 13,000 students who heard the message of safe and healthy relationships in the last year in that country and pray that this teaching will change many lives and attitudes.  Thank God for new ACET inspired initiatives springing up around Eastern Europe, particularly in Latvia. (Please let us know if you would like to receive a regular prayer update with more details about our work in Eastern Europe.)

Please pray for the media work that ACET teams do.   Remember specifically the radio broadcasts about HIV and AIDS that go out regularly in Mbale, Uganda and throughout the Democratic Republic of Congo.  Ask God to bless and encourage those who speak and to make the broadcasts as widely heard as possible.  Pray for the ACET UK team as they have opportunities to raise the issues surrounding HIV and AIDS in the UK Christian media

Pray for all those faced by ignorance and stigma because of HIV.  Lift before God those who, as well as losing loved ones to AIDS and discovering they are HIV positive, face rejection by their families and communities.  Remember particularly ACET’s volunteer home based carers in South Africa, Zimbabwe, India and elsewhere around the world.

Please also give thanks for so many answers to prayer including:

  • Evidence of transformed lives and hope for the future in Zimbabwe through the work of ACET.
  • Funding for a new laboratory at ACET Nireekshana India and the new co-operation with the local government that this has helped to make possible.
  • The many thousands of copies of AIDS and You that it has been possible to distribute free in many countries this year, particularly in Nigeria in recent months.
  • The 25 active volunteers now reaching out to young people in Uzbekistan.

If you have messages of encouragement or assurances of prayer for any of these people or situations, please email them to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and we will pass them on.

Thank you for praying!
